Rate Limit

What is Rate Limit?

Rate limit is the number of calls to the API that the user or application can make within a period of time. This is done to avoid overloading our systems and maintaining its stability and security.

By default, we allow 100 calls per minute considering reading and writing. Users who send too many requests in a row and exceed this limit will receive an error message with a status code 429 .

HTTP Headers

So you know, we send additional fields in the Response Header informing what the permitted limits are, how many requests are available and how long it will take before the quota is restored, for example:

  • RateLimit-Limit: Indicates how many calls your application can make to our API per allotted time. As stated earlier, our allotted time is 1 minute.
  • RateLimit-Remaining: Indicates the total number of customer requests available in the allotted time.
  • RateLimit-Reset: Indicates the time remaining for the request limit to be reset.

We will also send, in the Header, information about the limits per period and the number of requests remaining:

  • X-RateLimit-Limit-Minute: Indicates how many calls your application can make to our API per minute.
  • X-RateLimit-Remaining-Minute: Indicates the total number of customer requests available in the current minute.
